The Heidelberg Raceway and Sports Arena:

Heidelberg's new super speedway was sufficiently completed by Memorial Day to accommodate a crowd of over 40,000 with free parking space for 8,000 cars. With the addition of temporary stands to permanent steel and concrete grandstand which officials were confident it could hold more than 100,000. Lighting of the speedway, which means illuminating an area three times the size of Pittsburgh Forbes Field, is also underway and will be completed in time to permit after-dark racing. High spot of the seven events carded for Memorial Day was a 30 lap sweepstakes. Hank Miller said "He expects to see the present  speed mark for a half mile track erased from the books. Driver Jimmy Wilburn, Miller said, half power-dived and half side-slipped around the Greenville, Ohio, track in 20 seconds. Heidelberg's slick, well oiled and well banked clay will turn it into 19 seconds or less. That is averaging better than 94.7 miles per hour.
